Summer positions
From DGC
Team Caltech has a limited number of paid engineering positions available for summer 2007. All positions begin on 9 July 2007 and continue through 21 September 2007. Students are encouraged to continue participation through the Grand Challenge Event (GCE) on 3 November 2007.

Positions available
- Operations support - provide support for team operations, including maintaining Alice in good operating condition, supporting upgrades to electrical and mechanical systems, and supporting test operations. Students should have some experience in electrical or mechanical engineering. Prior experience in robotics is highly desirable.
- Software development - implement algorithms for autonomous operations and integrate into the canonical systems architecture for Alice. Applicants should have a strong working knowlege in C/C++ in a linux environment. Prior experience in robotics highly desireable.
- System administration - maintain the development and race computer clusters, consisting of several dozen linux-based computers. Applicants should have prior experience in unix-based system administration.

Application process
All positions are available for undergraduate students only. Interested applicants should complete the following steps:
- Send a resume and course transcript (unofficial version OK) to info@gc.caltech.edu no later than 13 April 2007 (Fri) at 6 pm PST.
- Arrange for 2 letters of recommendation to be sent to info@gc.caltech.edu no later than 13 April 2007 at 6 pm PST. These letters should be from individuals who can speak to previous project-based work in a team setting. Students who have participated in CS/EE/ME 75 need only submit 1 letter of recommendation, but it must be from someone not associated with Team Caltech.
- Indicate whether you will be available to participate in the project full time (40 hrs/week) from 9 July to 22 September 2007, and whether you will be able to continue to participate part time in the team's activities through 3 November 2007.

Q: Can non-Caltech students apply for positions?
- Yes. However, students must be able to work through at least 21 September 2007. Priority will be given to students that are available to continue participation in the team's activities through the race (3 Nov 07).
Q: Do you have to have work-study to be eligible for a position?
- No.
