- 16 Jan 06: Undergraduates interested in working on the 2007 Urban Challange in Summer 2007 should look at the summer opportunities page.
- 2 Oct 06: Team Caltech has received a $1M award from DARPA to develop technology for autonomous urban driving.
- 25 Sep 06: A set of work study positions for Caltech undergraduates have been posted. Application deadline is 30 September.
- 18 Sep 06: An information session will be held on 25 Sep (Mon) @ 4:30 pm in 102 Steele for students interested in joining Team Caltech for the 2006-07 academic year.
- 2 Sep 06: New public homepage created. This page will eventually replace our original public page.
- 18 Mar 07: Team Caltech completed its March 2007 field test, demonstrating the ability to drive through intersections, detect an obstacle blocking a lane, and plan and execute a U-turn.
- 11 Jun 07: Alice is now capable of intersection operations, passing stationary vehicles, following moving vehicles and executing U-turns.
- 12 Jun 07: Team Caltech had its site visit from DARPA and completed all four runs. The runs included operation with stationary and moving vehicles, as well as route planning. Pictures and video coming soon.
- 9 Aug 07: DARPA announced that Team Caltech is one of the 36 teams invited to the national qualifying event (NQE) for the 2007 Urban Challenge. The race will take place outside Victorville, CA.
- 16 Oct 07: Team Caltech is in the final stages of preparation for the Grand Challenge and will arrive in Victorville on 25 Oct (Thu). Alice is able to successfully performing the urban maneuvers required for the race and we are working on improving the robustness and speed of the system.
